EDEN
Kids Church

Questionnaires

If you haven't already completed a Questionnaire please feel free to do so and return it to one of the team on Sunday morning, as we really would like to know how  we can keep improving           Eden Kids Church.

Collection

We continue to take a collection each week in Eden. This is very much appreciated and will be used specifically for the benefit of the children in Eden Kids church, eg for things such as the summer trip etc

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 " You shall love The Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.“

Thank you for your continued support

Happy New Year

We hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and would like to wish you a peaceful New Year. Thank you for all your support during the last term particularly in preparing for the Christingle Service, I'm sure we all agree that the children did a great job leading the service!

Thank you also for providing the food for the Christmas party, the leaders certainly enjoyed themselves and hopefully all the children and parents did too.

Safety

It can be busy after church with many people coming and going in the hall as they collect their children and as others come in for tea. We stress to the children the importance of staying with us in the hall until parents collect them, but would appreciate if this can be done as promptly as possible and if you could reinforce to the children the importance of staying inside until they are collected. Please remember also to sign them out on the board once you arrive. Thanks

Staying in touch...

Some of you will have already seen our new Facebook page, if not please feel free to search for 'Eden Kids Church', where we will post news and updates. If you prefer that we don't include your child's photo on this page, please do let us know.

Thank you to all those who have returned their questionnaires, many of you indicated that you would appreciate a monthly news sheet. We therefore hope to provide a detailed News sheet each term, but with a shorter monthly update in between.

What will the children learn this term?

You will see that we have decided to continue with the Old Testament for the rest of this year, as we help the children explore the 'Big story' of the Bible. We will however have a couple of breaks from that- firstly to learn about the Wise Men's story in January, and again before Easter when we will use the Messy Church Format to explore the Easter Story

Bible messages apply to their own lives and how each story points to Jesus. We will also start the term singing some new songs and also hope to learn some memory verses.

Songs

The songs for January and February will be:

  • Rainbow- Hillsong Kids
  • All through History- Nicky and Becky Drake www.worshipforeveryone.com
  • Strong and Courageous- Justin Graves Band
  • Trust in the Lord- John Hardwick
  • Trust and Obey- Hillsong Kids

The songs can all be found on YouTube if the children want to listen to them during the week

Memory verses:

Proverbs 3 v 5: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.'

Joshua 1 V 9: 'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and Courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
